The figure has six digits, the integrator is the only one saying it is right, and nobody in-house can contradict it.

The project looks feasible, but nobody can demonstrate it, and failure would only show after the investment.

Before a funding decision

Your fundraising or grant application is conditioned on an independent technical validation: you need proof that comes from somewhere other than you.

  • A risk analysis: what can make the project fail, and at what cost
  • An argued feasibility verdict, including « do not do it » where warranted
  • A demonstrator: a simulation, digital twin, test bench or prototype, depending on the question asked
  • A presentation meeting, to decide rather than to file away
  • A document and a code base that belong to you

How it unfolds

  1. Framing the question

    week 1

    What has to be true for the project to hold? The study starts by reducing your project to the one question that decides everything: the question the demonstrator will have to settle.

  2. Building the instrument

    weeks 2 and 3

    Simulation, digital twin, bench or prototype: I build the tool that answers the question, and confront it with your real data as soon as it runs.

  3. Measuring and consolidating

    week 4

    Intermediate results are shown to you as they come. A study going off the rails shows in week two, not at the final meeting.

  4. Presenting and handing over

    final week

    The verdict, its limits and the demonstration, presented in a meeting and then handed over. The document and the code are yours.

The price

From €8,000 excl. VAT, fixed price

The price is set in the quote, after the discovery call, and does not move afterwards. What makes it vary: access to hardware and data, safety constraints, and the shape of the demonstrator (a simulation costs less than a bench to build).

What the study does not replace

An honest study also says where it stops.

  • A certification calculation: the demonstrator explores and compares, it does not certify.
  • A final physical test: a simulation steers the design, the test passes judgement on it.
  • A detailed build specification: that is the next step, if the verdict is « go ahead ».

It settles the question that comes before everything else: should you invest, and in what.

Frequently asked

Is the study deducted from the build?

No: it is a deliverable you keep, including if you have someone else build it. It does make the build quote far more accurate, though, and usually cheaper.

Can I have someone else build it?

Yes. The document and the code belong to you, and they are written to be picked up by others: that is a quality criterion of the study.

Remote or on site?

Both. Most of the work happens remotely; I travel when the hardware requires it: readings, trials, access to the machines. Travel costs appear in the quote.
